Biography
I am a graduate of Rhode Island College, in Providence, Rhode Island. I earned my undergraduate work there in Elementary Education, with minors in Language and Communications.I earned my Masters Degree from RIC as well, with a Major in Special Education in Behavioral Disorder, Learning Disability and Resource. I have Additional course work in English Education.
Teaching Reading , College Skills and ESL continues to fill me with a great sense of fulfillment. Helping another human being must be one of the greatest accomplishments in a lifetime. I want , always, to be there for my students..
I believe that my purpose is to stimulate and create the impetus and enthusiasm for every student, so that he may further his academic experience,reach his potential, and live a life filled with accomplishments that mirror himself in his lifetime..

| Description: |
College Preparatory Credits (0000 designations) may not be used toward graduation credits. Prerequisite: EAP 0200 or an appropriate score on the standardized placement test for ESL. In this course students will further develop the ability to comprehend spoken English and to express themselves more accurately and fluently on a variety of social and academic topics. They develop speaking and listening skills necessary for participating in classroom discussions with an emphasis on clarification through rewording and asking questions. Emphasis is on active listening for discrete points and main ideas and summarizing. 62 contact hours. |

Corequisite: SLS 1101. Mentoring refers to a formalized process whereby a student is positively socialized by his or her mentor(s) into the college experience and the college community. The student will participate in mentoring relationships that will include one or more members of the SPC community. The mentor will assist the student in developing a skillset, a level of awareness, and a network to increase the likelihood of success in college. Students will complete no less than 17 contact hours. |
