I'm happy to share a little bit of who I am and I'm also looking forward to getting to know you as a student in my class. I am a part-time ethics instructor with SPC. My day job is being the pastor of Faith Presbyterian Church here in Seminole. I have lived in Florida for the past 18 years. I'm married and have three college-age kids. I grew up in the Washington DC area and graduated from the University of Maryland (fear the turtle!). From there I went on to theological training at Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary in Boston. I finished my formal education by earning a doctoral degree (D. Min.) from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, CA. Along the way I have served churches in Bellingham WA, Maryland and here in Florida. My background and job experience puts me in touch with people of all ages, but I especially enjoy working with college students. My hobbies include tennis, golf, running/working out and watching sunsets. (About the only thing I enjoy more is watching my son surf while the sun is setting.) In the classroom, my motto is "if the student hasn't learned, the teacher hasn't taught." I believe that the study of ethics is both important, incredibly relevant and a process that involves constant learning. In fact, I'm looking forward to learning from you as we study together the subject of applied ethics.
