Biography
My teaching profession began on 1991 and continues today educating students on various academic levels - middle & high school, college and graduate school. I got my B.S. in Computer Engineering from Cebu Institute of Technology University: academic scholarship recipient; completed M. S. in Manufacturing Engineering specializing in robotics and automation from De La Salle University : DOST-ESEP scholarship recipient - Thesis " Development of a microcomputer remote controlled 3 DOF mini robot with interactive graphic simulation" ; and earned 12 credit units from University of the Philippines - Diliman and 9 credit units from University of South Florida in Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering . I earned a total of 28 education credit units from University of South Florida and St. Petersburg College as well. I hold two professional educator's certificates here in Florida - in Mathematics and Computer Science with Florida Department of Education no. 921152.
The following were the schools I taught mathematics and computer related subjects: University of South Florida, Hillsborough Community College, St. Petersburg College, Pinellas Marine Institute, Schiller International University, ITT- Technical Institute, Central Florida College, STI College, AMA College, Verallo College, San Pedro College, University of Mindanao, University of Immaculate Conception, University of the Visayas, and University of San Carlos.
Aside from my teaching load, I am a math faculty tutor in SPC Learning Support Commons in Gibbs, Downtown and Seminole campuses.
The best part of my teaching experiences is seeing my students learn, pass the class and then graduate from the program. And this is my most rewarding moment.

This course # was formerly MAT 0012. Prerequisite(s): Appropriate score on the SPC mathematics placement test. This is the first course in the college-preparatory two-course sequence (MAT 0018 and MAT 0028) designed to prepare students for college-level mathematics courses. This course is a study of the basic skills and concepts of pre-algebra from the point of view of the college student who needs an understanding of pre-algebra. Major topics include operations with integers, fractions, decimals, percents, geometric figures and their measures (including application problems), and other pre-algebra topics. A minimum course grade average of C (minimum 70% accuracy) is required for successful completion. This course does not apply toward mathematics requirements in general education or toward any associate degree. 47 - 62 contact hours. |

This is the second course in the college-preparatory two-course sequence (MAT 0018 and MAT 0028) designed to prepare students for college-level mathematics courses. This course is a study of the basic skills and concepts of basic algebra from the view of a college student who needs an understanding of basic algebra. Major topics include operations on signed rational numbers, simple linear equations and inequalities in one variable, operations on polynomials (including beginning techniques of factoring), integer exponents, brief introduction to radicals, introduction to graphing, applications, and other basic algebra topics. A minimum course grade average of C (minimum 70% accuracy) is required for successful completion. Prerequisite: Appropriate score on the SPC mathematics placement test or permission of a Mathematics Department program administrator. This flexible entry/exit college preparatory course is designed to improve the basic skills and concepts of elementary algebra from the view of a college student who needs an understanding of basic algebra. Course strategies will include one-on-one instruction, small group instruction, and computer instruction in a lab setting. A diagnostic assessment will determine placement into course modules as well as exit requirements. This course is intended to prepare students for successful entry into college-level course work. 17 contact hours minimum. |
