I earned a B. A. in Political Science from the University of South Florida and then I earned a Juris Doctorate from Stetson University College of Law.
In the 1980's I spent 3 years as the Political Action Coordinator for a local Anheuser- Busch Distributor. After earning my law degree I was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1989 and then spent over 10 years as a staff attorney at the Second District Court of Appeal in Lakeland Florida. During my tenure at the court I became a senior attorney and worked directly for the chief judge. I provided research, writing and legal analysis on civil and criminal cases to the judges of the court.
Some of my interests include things one may not bring up in social settings - government, politics, and religion - but also include those one may- baseball, football, classic movies, and music.
Mother Teresa is my religious hero. Jackie Robinson is my civil rights role model. Grover Cleveland is my favorite Democratic President. Abe Lincoln and Ghandi are my favorite lawyers. Frank Serpico is my favorite whistle-blower, and John Wayne is my favorite actor.

Students will review the historical development of ethics, and learn to apply logic, critical thinking, and decision making skills to a variety of ethical dilemmas arising in business, economic and governmental settings. Students will learn methods of resolving such dilemmas through the use of statutory, corporate and professional codes, as well as through ethical reasoning. Emphasis will be placed on logical analysis, critical thinking, and responsible ethical decision making. This course has a substantial writing requirement.
