Biography

A graduate of St. Petersburg Jr. College, I continued on to receive a B.A. in Language & Literature/Education from the University of South Florida, a M.A. in Arts & Letters/Education from the University of South Florida and a Certificate of Community College Executive Leadership from the University of Florida. My career began as a high school English teacher for Pinellas County schools. Twelve years later, I decided it was time to move on to a new challenge, and I began teaching Composition and literature classes for SPC Clearwater campus. In the year 2000, I made the move to the Seminole campus and again taught Composition and literature.

During eight of my years at the Seminole Campus, I served as the Seminole/eCampus Academic Chair for Communications . However, because of my love for teaching, I decided to go back to the classroom as a full-time professor. My philosophy is for students to be active participants in the learning process and to be provided skills they can take with them throughout their academic careers and beyond!
