I was born and raised in Dearborn, MI but have lived in Clearwater the majority of my adult life. My three children were born in Ann Arbor, so I delayed my advanced education until I moved to FL, and enrolled at St Pete College.
As you noticed my first academic experiences took place at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. While I did not earn a degree there, I remain a Wolverine devotee, and take annual trips back for some football and family gatherings. I traveled to Armenia three summers in a row, 1990-1992, with the University of Michigan Overseas Study Program, to learn the language and culture of my parents. I also traveled to Mexico, Guatamala and Belize on a USF Study Program in the late 80s. I remain a strong advocate of Overseas Study, and fortunately SPC and USF have some fabulous programs.
One aspect of teaching Humanities is that I get to share my world travels and experiences with students. I enjoy hearing about travel adventure stories from others, so, if you have great stories to share, let me know.
