The
"Information Technology Security Curriculum & Education for
Educators" (ITSCEE) is well underway.
September 4, 2008: Multi-part exercises are
currently being developed in which students resolve two business-security problems. These exercises cover access, rights, and
information within a set of directives. Students also use SLIS to create
some policies, interpret the policies, and apply the outcome on a Windows
server. These exercises will utilize all Microsoft options in Active Directory
as well as a virtual ERP application. This should be complete in SLIS by
October
19

items received continuing attention: The project team implemented the
courses and created reusable learning objects. These courses have also been
presented leading to further improvement. Difficulty in getting more
linkages to other colleges with budget cuts affecting all parties in
education resulted in motivating a remote access facility that would prompt
interest, provide remote access, and address budget challenges.

formal alliance. This linkage has the potential to extend to partners too.

were able to come out and brave the storm.

ABOUT THE TRAINING
The training consists
of 48-hours of faculty development courses in IT Security that assist
faculty to prepare for a IT Security
certification. These courses are based upon the degree and certificate
programs being developed and include all critical core curriculum.
The courses are offered in "blended" format, with each
participant completing their online course work prior to participation in
the boot camp and finally to the exam. (Note: iTEC
currently provides training in networking and other technology topics for
faculty who need prerequisite skills before entering this specialized
program. iTEC has agreed to continue to provide
the prerequisite training to participants of this project.)
