The NCTT has been a resource to St. Petersburg College (SPC) and to the State Department of Education. Specifically, the NCTT reviews new program offerings nationally and conducts ethics training.
Program Review
The NCTT conducted initial reviews of new programs at the baccalaureate degree level in Business Education, Education Technology, Industrial Technology, and International Business. A sample of institutions that hold national accreditation in the subject areas and institutions identified as having exemplary programs by the national accrediting agency were reviewed for specific curriculum offerings across the United States.
Ethics Training
The NCTT provides ethics training for SPC's College of Education students and faculty. This training is part of the orientation program provided to new students admitted into the College of Education. The purpose of this training is for the students to understand the ethical behavior that is expected and demanded of them in the State of Florida, and for them to know that educators are held to a high moral standard in Florida. The training is also provided to students before they conduct their senior year clinical experience in the K-12 public schools.
The NCTT partners with the Florida Education Standards Commission and the Florida
Education Practices Commission, in the Florida Department of Education,
to provide the ethics training to Florida's Colleges of Education,
community college's, and K-12 schools. The ethics training has been
prepared in a CD-ROM or DVD and disseminated to Florida 's Deans of
Colleges of Education, Superintendents of the 67 school districts, four
developmental research schools, Presidents of Community Colleges. |
