Resource-Rich Training in Technology, Science and Mathematics
The NCTT is partnering with NASA Kennedy Space Center to provide training on its past, current, and future explorations, research and applications to mathematics, science, technology and geography. The training for SPC's College of Education, departments of Mathematics and Science faculty and students, was held on September 20-21, 2004; training for Supervisors of Mathematics and Science from Hernando, Pasco, Pinellas districts, and from SPC's collegiate high school was held on September 22, 2004; and the principal training was held on October 29, 2004. NASA also provides resource information and technology to SPC community/public libraries and to K-12 public school libraries in the State.
Developing Long-term Relationships
This initiative provides great excitement for students and faculty at SPC's College of Education and also for our surrounding K-12 schools. This also provides opportunities for schools to establish long term relationships with NASA staff and the opportunity for these schools to apply to become NASA Explorer Schools. |
