National Groups

Tackling Educational Issues on a National Level

The NCTT has established partnerships with national groups so that it can more effectively participate in the national dialogue on educational issues. The groups are the Education Trust in Washington, DC, and the Education Commission of the States (ECS) in Denver, Colorado.

The NCTT is partnering with the Education Trust on best practices for improving student achievement. Schools and districts making significant progress in student achievement for all students, particularly for low income and minority students, were invited from across the nation to present the strategies they used at the Education Trust's 15th National Conference. The NCTT is partnering with the Education Trust on this conference.

No Child Left Behind

The NCTT is partnering with the Education Commission of the States on the issue of teacher quality and what constitutes effective paraprofessionals pursuant to the No Child Left Behind Act. It is also partnering with the ECS to hold a national invitational conference that deals with teacher shortage and the role of community colleges in teacher preparation.

The NCTT is currently exploring partnerships with other agencies...
