About Meta
Meta: The Journal of St. Petersburg College, is a new interdisciplinary publication. Funded by the 2011 Silverberg Endowment for Academic Excellence Grant, the college-wide publication is accepting submissions from SPC students, faculty, staff and alumni for:
- Creative writing
- Poetry
- Photography
- Research
- Cultural criticism
- Visual art
The purpose of the journal is to give SPC students and faculty an interdisciplinary publication that displays critical or creative accomplishments and encourages student success. The four-color print piece will be distributed through SPC departments, programs, libraries and locally by the SPC Foundation. The title "Meta" (a prefix defined as after, along with, beyond, among) emphasizes the interdisciplinary nature of the publication's content, contributors, editorial board and audience. While the publication is hosted by the SPC Honors College, the editorial board is comprised of faculty and students in each discipline.
The New Meta Logo
We received 28 talented and creative designs from fifteen SPC students in our logo design contest. It was very difficult for our Editorial Board to choose the final logo.We are happy to announce that our final leading design logo winner designer is Audrey Kruger.
