Study Abroad in Spain

This is a three-week intensive language experience where the student is immersed in the language and culture of Spain. It is coordinated by SPC and Estudio Sampere. Estudio Sampere is a NAFSA affiliate and is accredited by Spain's Instituto Cervates, the most well-recognized international accreditation body for Spanish language instruction.

Classes are offered at all levels and are taught by Spanish professors five days a week. The instructional program includes 20 language lessons addressing function and communicative skills, plus five cultural lessons per week. Cultural activities and tours reinforce the student's proficiency in the language and appreciation of the culture. Learn more about Spain.

Weekend in Portugal
The group will visit the town of Oporto (the Venice of Portugal) and Praia do Coimbra (Atlantic beach). The weekend tour will include lodging in hotel, two meals, transportation and guide to the city of Oporto.

    Prerequisite: Elementary Spanish II (SPN 1121) or written permission from SPC instructor.
  • 4 - Intermediate Spanish II (SPN 2201)
    Prerequisite:  Intermediate Spanish I (SPN 2200) or written permission from SPC instructor.
  • 5 - Spanish Conversation and Comp I (SPN 2240)
    Prerequisite: Intermediate Spanish II (SPN 2201) or written permission from SPC instructor.
  • 6 - Spanish Conversation and Comp II (SPN 2241)
    Prerequisite:  Spanish Composition and Conversation I (SPN 2240) or written permission from SPC instructor.
  • 7 - Study Abroad Working Experience (SPN 2949)
    Prerequisite:  Approval of Study Abroad Faculty Leader
