COM 3120 ORGANIZATIONAL COMMUNICATION 3 credits

Prerequisite: SPC 1017, SPC 1065 or SPC 1608, and admission to Banking BAS, International Business BAS, Management & Organizational Leadership BAS, Sustainability Management BAS, Technology Management BAS, Public Safety Administration BAS, Public Policy and Administration BS, or Educational Studies BS. This course will examine the process of communication within organizations. The topics of message dissemination, interpersonal communication, work group interaction, and nonverbal communication will be analyzed as to their impact on individuals and the organization. Emphasis will be placed on practical application techniques for diagnosing and resolving organizational communication problems. This course will also have a major writing requirement focusing on practical business writing techniques. 47 contact hours.
