NUR 1211L NURSING II CLINICAL EXPERIENCE 5-6 credits
Prerequisites: NUR 1021/1021L with grades of "C" or better. Corequisite: NUR 1211, NUR 1142C. This clinical course provides opportunities to apply the principles related to the holistic nursing care of adult clients and childbearing families. Focus is on application of the theoretical concepts and use of the nursing process in providing care to adult clients and childbearing families who are experiencing commonly recurring actual or potential threats to homeodynamics. Emphasis is placed on managing the care of clients who are experiencing alterations in the functional dimensions of health in both hospital and community settings. The student is expected to be able to manage a select number of hospitalized clients while continuing to develop other nursing roles. This course contains a number of critical behaviors, including medication administration, that must be performed without error by the end of the course to successfully pass the course.
