PLA 4944 PARALEGAL CERTIFICATE CAPSTONE 3 credits
Prerequisite: Admission to the Paralegal Studies BAS program or Paralegal Studies Certificate Program and permission of the Dean. This is the capstone course for the Paralegal Studies Certificate Program. It will provide the opportunity for the student to demonstrate that he/she has learned both the theoretical material and practical skills from the certificate courses and can sufficiently apply them to the Certified Legal Assisting examination. It must be taken during the student’s last session of the certificate program. A substantive review of the CLA examination topics will be covered along with practice examinations. This course focuses on giving the student the opportunity to develop and present a plan to solve a problem dealing with paralegal issues today. The student will choose a topic for a project consistent with the goals of this course and submit it to the course instructor for approval. 45 contact hours.
