TITLE: Program Director II, Campus

BASIC FUNCTION:
Plans and
directs a specific department, discipline, and/or program(s): campus
library’s operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES (included in base salary):

Develops, prepares, and updates library
programs and
services.

Participates in reference and instruction duties.
-
Communicates with the
Director of
Libraries and library
faculty regarding program policies,
procedures, and personnel matters. Develops schedule of library
research instructions including LIS courses, classroom instructions,
reference coverage, and program liaison coverage.

Interviews,
hires, trains, evaluates and manages the work performance of faculty and
staff under his/her supervision in accordance with college rules, policies
and procedures.

Controls
equipment/materials utilized within the program.

Handles
grievances within department as required.
-
Assists in
implementation of in-service training programs for faculty.
-
Serves as active
member of campus leadership team.
-
Assists the
Director of Libraries regarding budget matters for the specific program
area.

Interacts with
external industries, businesses, and professional groups on behalf of the
college.
-
Assists with the
hiring and credentialing of instructors in accordance with college rules and
policies.
-
Responsible for
administering the attendance management system which includes analysis of
the Angel and PeopleSoft attendance edit reports for compliance with the
college attendance and withdrawal policy for students.
-
Responsible for
administering the library management system provided by the state via the
College Center for Library Automation (CCLA). Responsible for collection of
data provided by the LMS for purposes of program analysis and furnishing of
data for reports required by internal and external agencies.

Responsible for
achieving the enrollment course/section productivity goals of the college.

May teach one
supplemental course per session not to exceed nine ECH per academic year.
Base salary may include instructional assignments for low enrollment
programs.

Performs related
duties required for the administration and management of the academic
program as required or assigned by
Director of Libraries,
Snr. VP
and/or President (includes functions which may vary from one
campus
to another
such as internal and/or external committees, labs, accreditation etc. other
functions determined necessary for successful management of the program).
EDUCATIONAL
REQUIREMENTS:
Master's
degree from ALA
accredited program. Must be able to be credentialed
in the area he/she supervises.
EXPERIENCE
REQUIREMENTS:
Three years
professional
experience in academic libraries. Supervisory experience and experience in
joint use or public libraries preferred.
KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge of
and ability to apply computer applications for increased administrative
efficiency and productivity.
Knowledge of library
management systems, electronic resources and services and emerging trends in
library services and technologies. Evidence of supervisory skills. Strong
public service commitment and excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a joint use facility serving both community and
college patrons’ needs.
