POSITION DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE: Executive Director, SPC Foundation

DEPARTMENT: Resource Development SITE: EpiCenter

SALARY SCHEDULE: A&P - GRADE: E

BASIC FUNCTION:

Coordinates activities of the SPC Development Office involved in raising monies from the private sector in support of college programs and capital projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establishes programs associated with deferred/planned giving, trusts, bequests, scholarships, etc.
  • Prepares annually a five-year strategic development plan for SPC with measurable annual outcomes congruent with college growth plans.
  • Develops and implements department budget.
  • Works with other college personnel in joint community affairs, public relations, grants, and alumni fund-raising projects.
  • Initiates annual capital campaigns for degree programs congruent with college plans in cooperation with program directors.
  • Coordinates and directs the professional growth of resource development staff.
  • Establishes informal procedures.
  • Exhibits knowledge of philosophy of higher education philanthropy and its potential effects on faculty success and student performance.
  • Performs related duties as required.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree with specialized courses and major in related area. Master’s degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Five (5) years experience in institutional fund-raising in business or the public management area.

KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge of college development goals, policies and expectations. Knowledge of the sources of funds for college programs and foundations. Ability to establish and maintain relationships with potential funding sources. Ability to use computers. Knowledge of fund raising and foundation practices. Knowledge of public relations. Verbal and written communications skills. Office management and supervisory skills. Interpersonal relations skills.
