POSITION DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE: Instructor-in-Charge; Applied Ethics Program*

DEPARTMENT: Provost                                    SITE: College-wide

SALARY SCHEDULE: Faculty                             GRADE: N/A

BASIC FUNCTION:

Plans and directs the Applied Ethics Program.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Master's degree in Ethics or master's degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in any of the following subject areas:

   

Education                                              Marriage & Family Therapy

Ethics                                                   Social Work

Bioethics                                               Accounting

Law                                                      Engineering

Law Enforcement                                   Public Administration

Mass Communications                           Religion and Theology

Philosophy

Medical Sciences (including Nursing and Public Health)

Business (including Management and Administration)

  

Must be able to be credentialed to teach Applied Ethics, including at least 6 graduate semester hours in Ethics.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

A minimum of three years of full-time teaching in the field of Applied Ethics at the higher education level.

KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge of micro-computer applications.

*The Instructor in Charge of the Applied Ethics Program's 12-month contract equates to a 42-ECH assignment as identified in the "Guidelines for Program Directors' Assignment (W)".
