Cooperative Education Work Experience (CO-OP)
The Parks and Leisure Services Department works with students to meet their CO-OP Education course (LEI 2949) requirement. Professional Staff is available to offer guidance to enrolled students on career development and placement. Leadership guidance on how to find student experiences in a variety of parks and leisure public, private and not-for-profit settings is available upon request.
LEI 2949 CO-OP WORK EXPERIENCE Course Description (3 credits):
Prerequisite: Faculty Advisor/Co-op Coordinator or Program Director Approval. This course is designed to provide students with major-related, supervised, evaluated practical training work experiences which may be paid or voluntary. Students are graded on the basis of documented learning acquired through hands-on experiences in an actual work setting. The student must fulfill the requirement of 60 on-the-job hours for each credit earned in addition to written assignments.
