The Symphonic Band is the primary large instrumental ensemble at St.
Petersburg College. Membership is open to all students who
enjoy playing quality wind band literature. Membership in the Band is
required for all Music Majors who are primarily woodwind, brass, and
percussion instrumentalists. There are typically three performances per
semester of concert music.
Repertoire includes the finest literature, including works of Grainger, Holst, Persichetti, Vaughan Williams, Hanson, Chance, Creston, Schuman, Copland, and many other great composers.
Scholarships of $200 to $400 are available for students who join the Band
(regardless of their major) if they are enrolled for a total of 8 credits
