Mr. Mark Matthews & Dr. David Manson - Directors
The Music Technology Lab is St. Petersburg College's innovative recording and class piano laboratory. The lab is equipped with recording software and hardware for both Macintosh and PC platforms.
Music and Computers (MUS 1360), taught by David Manson, is a project-oriented class with the goal of learning basic home studio recording. The course is open to music and non-music majors.
Studio Applications (MUC 1311), taught by veteran L.A. composer/producer Mark Matthews, is private instruction with seminar for advanced recording techniques and Pro Tools training.
Located on the second floor of the EI (formerly FA) Building in room 209, the music technology lab includes 16 computer work stations, a C-24 surface controller, Pro Tools HD2 system, isolation booth, 88-key Clavinova electronic pianos and software that includes
Pro Tools 7.4, Pro Tools LE, Sonar, SoundForge, Camtasia, Finale, FL Studio, Reason, Sibelius and others.
