In addition to many other scholarships available to SPC
students, these
scholarship opportunities apply specifically to music students. Final
determination of these awards is not made until after July 1 of each year,
however students may inquire about the application process at any time. An
audition is a part of the application process.
Fine Arts Scholarships for Band or Chorus
Requirements:
1. membership in Band or Chorus
2. 2.0 cumulative GPA
3. registration in 8 credits or more
Award: amounts varying from $100 to $500 per semester
Charlotte Anthony Music Scholarship
Requirements:
1. Music Major
2. not receiving any other financial aid
3. 2.0 cumulative GPA
4. enrolled in 12 credits or more
Award: $500 per semester renewable for two semesters
Betty Jane William and
Elizabeth Boyd Memorial Music Scholarship
Requirements:
1. Music Major
2. 2.0 GPA
For Pinellas County High School graduates
studying full-time for a career in music. $250 per session.
Norman Duzen Music Scholarship
Requirements:
1. Music Major in their second year
2. piano student preferred
3. demonstrated financial need
Award: $1500 per year
Earlene and Marvin Tiehaara Endowed Music Scholarship
Requirements:
1. Students taking private lessons and participating in
College ensemble
2. 3.0 GPA
3. 8 credits registration
4. demonstrated need
Jazz Band Scholarship:
Provides
financial assistance to students participating in Jazz Band at St.
Petersburg College. Value varies.
Hazel Marie Martyn Endowed
Memorial Scholarship:
This scholarship will be given to a
full-time student in the field of vocal music who is seeking a degree
and/or career in music. Applicants must maintain at least 2.7 GPA.
Selection by her family and SPC Foundation Office.
Mike and Beverly Bennett
Scholarship:
Established by
the former president of SPC, this scholarship is designed to provide
financial assistance to children of SPC employees. Preference given to
music majors. Value varies.
Oscar and Yeotle Setzer
Scholarship:
Established by Robert Setzer, a former SPC music instructor to honor his parents, this
scholarship is available to SPC students studying pipe organ.
