Tampa Bay Living Green Expo
USGBC Students-SPC members provide full volunteer support to the US Green Building Council (USGBC) Florida Gulf Coast Chapter's booth at the 2010
Pinellas Living Green Expo. At the event, they answer LEED/USGBC related questions to the 7,000+ attendees.
The Tampa Bay Living Green Expo is a
family-friendly educational event focusing on resource conservation and
provides real solutions for people to live better, healthier lives with less
impact on the environment.
LEED Buildings Tour
In late 2009, the EGB of SPC conducted a bus tour of LEED certified buildings in St Petersburg. The tour was open to students as well as the public. The tour included, among others, the LEED Gold SPC Student Services building as well as a residence, elementary school and commercial location. expect more similar events in the fututre.
Lecture Series
USGBC Students-SPC presents an annual "Green Lecture Series" in the Clearwater campus Teaching Auditorium. Lectures and focuses on
sustainability as related to architecture, solar instillation, and building construction. Socials
USGBC Students-SPC members are invited to attend USGBC socials where they can network with EGB clubs from other local colleges.
