Admissions Policies

1. It is the policy of the College to provide equal access to and equal opportunity within all College programs and activities, including admissions, without regard to race, color, religion, marital status, national origin, sex, age, or disability. Furthermore, the College will not discriminate in any program or activity against any qualified individual with a disability.

2. Each student, by the act of registering, pledges to accept and obey the rules and regulations of the College.

3. Any person whose past actions have been found to have disrupted or interfered with the orderly conduct, processes, functions or programs of any other school, university, college or community college may be denied admission by the President.

4. In order to maintain the College ideals of scholarship and deportment, the right is reserved to deny admission to applicants for any reason which is deemed to be in the best interest of the College.

Admission Eligibility to Credit Courses

The following students will be admitted to credit courses at St. Petersburg College. Specific and detailed requirements for each category are published under "Admission Requirements."

  1. High school graduates with a College Ready or standard high school diploma.
  2. Recipients of a high school equivalency diploma awarded on the basis of successful performance on Test of the General Educational Development (GED).
  3. Transfer students who are currently eligible to return to the last college attended.
  4. Early admission and dual credit students.
  5. Credit bank students.
  6. Non-degree students who desire to earn credit in a limited number of courses or for personal objectives but do not intend to pursue a formal degree program.
  7. Transient students.
  8. Students from other countries who have been admitted or are contemplating admittance to the United States to pursue their education. Please see International Students admission requirements.
