1. Is there a higher GPA for transfer admission?
A.A. requirements have not changed. A.A. applicants must meet requirements for their major, have passed CLAST or met the requirement through alternative means before we will review their applications, and have satisfied the foreign language admissions requirement.
2. Should community college transfer students have the A.A. and all prerequisites completed - INCLUDING Foreign Language?
Transfer students must have satisfied CLAST and the foreign language requirement before we will review their applications. Milestones and prerequisites are listed for each major.
3. Do you have earlier application dates?
The admissions deadline is typically two months prior to the start of each term; however, FSU reserves the right to close early if warranted by enrollment limitations. Some colleges/departments may have earlier deadlines for their programs than the published university deadlines, or may admit only for specific terms. Because of enrollment limitations, we have just recently decided to close transfer admission for Fall, 2008. The deadline for A.A. students to apply for the Spring, 2009 semester is Nov. 1.
4. Are you accepting a smaller number of community college transfer students?
Because of FSU's over-enrollment at the undergraduate level and budget constraints, we will be accepting fewer undergraduate students (both freshmen and transfer).
5. What is your Foreign Language Policy - any changes?
For admission purposes, the University requires that two years of the same foreign language be successfully completed in high school, or 8 semester hours of the same foreign language be successfully completed in college. Students may also satisfy the foreign language admission requirement with AP, IB, AICE, and CLEP credit. The foreign language admissions requirement is not to be confused with the University's foreign language requirement for students majoring in a degree program in the College of Arts and Sciences or selected other majors, or earning the BA degree. |
