University of Florida Transfer Policy Updates |
|
For the time being, there are no changes to transfer admissions at the University of Florida. UF still requires students to earn the A.A degree and complete all prerequisites (including the foreign language requirement) prior to enrollment. To meet the foreign language requirement, UF requires either two sequential units of the same foreign language in high school, 8 semester hours in college, a demonstrated native proficiency (via CLEP or validation form a UF faculty member), or ESL/ESOL/EAP classes on either the high school or college transcript. Most application deadlines have remained the same as well, with the exception of Architecture. Updated deadlines for 2008 and 2009 are available at http://www.admissions.ufl.edu/ugrad/appdates.html. GPA requirements are the same; students should consult the college on UF’s campus that houses their major for specific GPA information if they cannot find it online. UF expects to admit a smaller number of transfer students this year then they have in the past, due to the state legislature’s budget cuts. They do not know yet how this will affect their decision process, so they have delayed transfer decisions to April 15 or later. They should know more in the next two weeks.
