Up close and Personal

A fun place to be

Eric Thibeault considered enrolling at a major university, but he felt that the prices were too high and he wasn’t too keen about going far from home to attend college.
Eric ThibeaultHe found the institution that was right for him less than a mile from his home.

“SPC was close, it was a good price range, and the professors are amazing,” Thibeault said. “It’s a lot of fun.”

Since enrolling at SPC, Thibeault has been active inside and outside of the classroom. Besides studying toward a degree in Orthotics and Prosthetics, Thibeault participated in the Student Government Association, Male Outreach Initiative, Democrat Club and Environmental Club.

In addition to club activities, Thibeault has worked at different positions on his campus, including the library art gallery and Student Activities. He now works in the campus video game lab, where he signs in students, takes inventory and keeps the peace – and yes, he gets to play the games as well.

His advice to potential students?

“Get to know your professors, there are so many cool teachers here,” Thibeault said. “SPC is a good school to start out at if you’re planning to transfer to another college. You don’t have to go far away to get a degree.”
