Up close and personal
Kristian Weinandt knows where he’s going.
It wasn’t always that way. He attended college in another state, and even earned a degree there. But it wasn’t until he took business courses at St. Petersburg College that he found his direction.

When his course work got challenging, he looked around for some help. And that’s when he found two of SPC’s unheralded benefits – free tutoring and learning support centers.
“SPC puts forth the extra effort for students who need tutoring help,” he said. “The learning support centers and the outside tutoring help are excellent benefits, and things that I have utilized often in order to maintain high grades.”
He has taken courses at other colleges, but he said none of them offered the one-on-one assistance available at SPC.
“They are really focused on the individual needs of the students,” he said. “”When I compare SPC to other colleges, the others are simply not as helpful. SPC works hard to get the student going in the right direction, and to help identify the right path to take.”
He also found other benefits at SPC – the broad range of degrees, the fully transferable credits, and the diversity of the student population, to name a few.
“There are no barriers at SPC, no limits on what you can do,” he said.
