Jerell Puyot knows where he’s going. But that wasn’t always the case. Puyot was in the theater program at St. Petersburg High School. And while he appreciated art and music, he wasn’t sure if those things would become his life’s work.
He went to school during the day and worked at night, mostly in restaurants “because it’s something a student can do to make some money.” He ended up in a program that was pretty far away from his high school theatrical interest – he’s studying international business, and he expects to go to law school once his SPC program is completed. “Studying business isn’t all I do at SPC,” he said. “I also have a couple of artsy things in the works – music, poetry and documentary films.” Puyot spent some time looking for his true path, and he found it at St. Petersburg College. “St. Petersburg College is the best place to find the life you want to create for yourself.” Return to the student stories home page. |
