- For the second time in 10 years, SPC’s M.M. Bennett Libraries system won the national Community College Program Achievement Award from the Association of College and Research Libraries.
- The college ranked ninth in the U.S. for the number of associate’s degrees awarded annually in Nursing.
- SPC was named best digital-savvy community college (2004) in America by the American Association of Community Colleges.
- SPC’s online speech course was named the nation’s “Outstanding Online Course” (2005) by the American Association of Community Colleges.
- The college ranked 13th in the U.S. for the number of associate’s degrees awarded annually in Health Professions and Related Clinical Services.
- SPC has nearly 1,000 nursing students in training.
- More than 600 students are enrolled in teacher training.
- SPC recently observed its 100th Commencement.
- The Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art on SPC’s Tarpon Springs Campus won the 2002 Rowe Award for Excellence in Architecture. The museum showcases 20th century artists Abraham Rattner, Allen Leepa, Esther Gentle and their contemporaries.
- An $11-million building for the College of Orthotics and Prosthetics will open in 2008 at the Caruth Health Education Center.
