florida prepaid text logo - Florida Prepaid College Savings Plans

To provide Florida families with an affordable means to save for their children's future college education, the Florida Legislature created the Florida Prepaid College Program in 1987. Since then, Florida Prepaid has helped more than one million families save for college.

What else is called Florida Prepaid?

The Take Stock in Children and JumpStart Scholarships will appear on your student account as Florida Prepaid.

What if I have the Prepaid plan?

If you have the Prepaid plan, SPC will automatically apply the funds to your student account at least one week prior to the due date. There will still be a balance due since prepaid does not cover some fees.

What if I have the 529 Savings plan?

If you have the 529 Savings plan, you will need to request that a check be sent to SPC at St. Petersburg College, Attn:  Business Office, P.O. Box 13489, St. Petersburg, FL  33733. Make sure to include your SPC ID number on your check.

What if I don't want to use my Florida Prepaid?

If you do not wish to use your prepaid please send an email from your SPC student email to prepaid@spcollege.edu requesting that your prepaid be removed. The email needs to be sent each term you do not wish to use prepaid.

What if I already paid my balance due?

If you pay your tuition prior to prepaid applying automatically, prepaid will not apply. In that case, you will need to send a request to prepaid@spcollege.edu to have your prepaid applied.

What if I have other funds that will pay only my tuition and fees?

In some cases, Florida Prepaid funds are reduced or removed to allow for specific scholarship funds.
