Earn free college credit through Dual Enrollment
Through this part-time program, students can take college courses at SPC or on their high school campus, earning credits toward both high school graduation and a college degree. There are no costs for application, tuition, or required textbooks for Pinellas students taking courses on SPC campuses. We are excited to offer you the chance to get a head start on qualifying for the Dual Enrollment Program for the next school year. This opportunity is made possible through a partnership between St. Petersburg College and Pinellas County Schools. You can earn high school and college credits simultaneously at no cost to you!

Who is eligible?
Students enrolled in grades 6-12 in Pinellas County public schools, private schools and home-education programs, and who meet the qualifying high school GPA and College Placement Test score requirements. Pinellas County Schools students must have at least a 3.0 unweighted high school GPA based on a minimum of seven (7) high school credits in a combination of math, science, English or social studies.
NOTE: Students younger than 15 are required to meet with the Associate Provost at their Home Campus to obtain enrollment authorization.
College-Level Expectations: Students participating in this program are expected to demonstrate a higher level of independence, maturity, and self-advocacy. This includes taking the initiative to communicate directly with SPC faculty and staff, seeking help when needed, and managing their academic responsibilities proactively.

What's required to enroll?
- For academic courses, a 3.0 unweighted cumulative GPA or a 3.0 in the subject area to be studied at SPC
- For career courses, a 2.0 unweighted cumulative GPA or a 2.0 in the subject area to be studied at SPC.
- Satisfactory scores on the College Placement Test (CPT/PERT) or PSAT/SAT/ACT.
- Search for classes – Work with your counselor to complete the PCS permission form or Private School Agreement form. Refer to the list of approved courses and guide for registration and class selection information. Completed and signed permission forms are submitted by your counselor directly to a dual enrollment office. NOTE: Home-education students should work directly with a dual enrollment office to create a schedule.
- Transportation to classes at SPC.
To remain in the Dual Enrollment program, you must maintain a college GPA of 2.0 (C average).
View participating schools and contact your high school counselor to see if you are eligible to take dual enrollment classes at SPC. If you successfully complete a dual enrollment course, you also will receive high school credit. Many Dual Enrollment classes also are offered at public and private high schools.
Federal law prohibits the college from releasing information regarding a student's progress in college courses to a third party without the student's written consent.

If you are currently enrolled in high school and want to continue your college education at SPC after you’ve met all your high school graduation requirements, please complete the SPC Supplemental Application and follow the necessary steps upon completion to becoming a postsecondary student at SPC.
