You can register for classes through the college's Workforce Institute. Registration closes the week before the class starts. Please note we reserve the right to cancel classes one week before the scheduled start date due to low enrollment. If this happens, we will notify you by email.
Basic Life Support Provider (BLS/CPR)

The $45 course fee does not include the American Heart Association BLS Provider manual. The manual costs $19.99, and is available at the Health Education Center's Barnes and Noble bookstore, Item #15-1010 (Barnes & Noble phone: 727-202-3603). The book is required to successfully complete the course. Please note: You are not required to attend this class in uniform.

Prerequisites: Current course completion card in BLS for healthcare providers; successfully complete the discipline-specific Instructor Essentials Online course and print the certificate of completion; alignment with an AHA BLS Training Center; be accepted by an AHA Training Center before enrolling in an Instructor Course and have a completed Instructor Candidate Application on file with that Training Center (provide proof); have current AHA BLS provider status (bring copy of card to class - front and back); successfully complete the discipline-specific Instructor Essentials online module and print the completion certificate (bring copy to class); have an AHA BLS for Healthcare Provider Student Manual (bring to class); have an AHA BLS for Healthcare Provider Instructor Manual (bring to class)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Provider

Prerequisites: Knowledge of cardiac rhythm interpretation and cardiovascular pharmacology required PRIOR to taking this class.

Prerequisites: A letter of recommendation or Instructor Potential, current provider course completion card in ACLS; successfully complete the discipline-specific Instructor Essentials Online course, alignment with an AHA ACLS Training Center. You must provide a copy of your ACLS provider card (front and back) and a copy of your discipline-specific Instructor Essentials online module completion certificate. The AHA ACLS Provider Manual and AHA ACLS Instructor Manual must be brought with you to class.
EMT Refresher - February 2020
FEE: $125

Textbook not included, nor required, but highly recommended to successfully pass. Recommended Textbook - Transition Series: Topics for the EMT by Mistovich and Limmer, 1st Edition, ISBN: 9780135113516, approximate textbook cost: $40-$80.
The EMT Refresher is offered twice per year: February (spring) and September (fall). This 32-hour course may satisfy Florida and NREMT refresher course requirements. For those who need to renew their Basic Life Support/CPR card, there will be a separate BLS Provider course offered. The cost is $45 for the course and around $20 for the BLS Provider book available at our Barnes & Noble bookstore. Completion of this BLS Provider course will give you four additional CEUs, and the fees are NOT included as part of the EMT Refresher course. Location: Health Education Center (same location as the EMT Refresher)
Paramedic Refresher - Offered in the Fall of Even Years - Next Class September 2020
FEE: $200. The course fee includes materials, but does not include the required ACLS Provider Manual 2015 (15-1005).
