Gain specialized skills with SPC's Applied Mental Health Advanced Technical Certificate

SPC's Applied Mental Health Advanced Technical Certificate offers specialized mental health education for professionals in law enforcement, fire and rescue, EMS, dispatch and their agencies. Within their scope of work, first responders are exposed to multiple experiences, some of which can be traumatic, that may impact them personally and professionally. This certificate focuses on first responder mental health as well as the mental health of the citizens they protect and serve. The certificate can be earned on its own or as part of the college's new bachelor's degree in human services.

This academic program prepares you for the following careers. All job data is provided by the U.S. Department of Labor.

This certificate is specialized for each first responder cohort, focusing on mental health literacy, peer support, and mental health resources responsive to first responders. This certificate also prioritizes prevention, particularly related to first responder suicide warning signs and risk factors, the impact of shift work, and the impact of cumulative stress both on and off duty.
