Mentoring Benefits
Mentoring provides participants with access to experienced guidance, constructive feedback, and real-world insight that supports both personal and professional advancement. Through mentoring relationships, individuals can strengthen critical skills, clarify career goals, increase confidence, and expand their professional networks.
Focus
Each Launchpad Mentoring session focuses on a practical skill or goal to help students succeed in college, plan for their future, and take their next steps with confidence.
- Time Management & Goal Setting: Learn how to manage your time, set achievable goals, and create habits that support academic success.
- Career Exploration & Path Mapping: Discover career interests, explore opportunities, and connect your college experience to your long-term goals.
- Upper-Division Transfer Planning: Learn how to prepare for transfer, explore four-year pathways, and create a plan for your next academic step.
- Workforce Opportunities: Explore internships, employment opportunities, and essential skills for entering today’s workforce.
Learn together. Grow together. Move forward together.
Launchpad Mentoring uses a group-based approach that brings first-year students together with supportive staff mentors in a welcoming, collaborative environment. Instead of navigating college alone, students learn from mentors and from one another through conversations, activities, goal-setting, and shared experiences.
The goal is simple: build a supportive community where students feel connected, confident, and prepared to succeed.
