At SPC, an eligible student may receive a Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants (SEOG) of up to $200 per term. You are automatically considered for this grant based on the results of the FAFSA. Students with the greatest need are awarded these limited funds.

To be eligible for an SEOG, you must meet these requirements each academic year:

  • Your FAFSA should be processed by SPC's Priority Deadline Date of May 1. Funds are limited. There is no guarantee you will receive these funds. You must apply early.
  • Be a U.S. Citizen or an eligible non-citizen.
  • Be a degree-seeking student (A.A., A.S., or bachelor's degree program) or enrolled in a financial assistance eligible certificate program.
  • Be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours per term.
  • Students are awarded in this order (due to high demand and limited funding, it is very rare that SPC awards anyone beyond group 1)
  1. Have a zero ($0) Expected Family Contribution as determined by the FAFSA  and  are awarded a Federal Pell Grant.
  2. Have a non-zero Pell-eligible Expected Family Contribution as determined by the FAFSA  and  are awarded a Federal Pell Grant.
  3. Have a non-zero Pell-eligible Expected Family Contribution as determined by the FAFSA, but have already reached the maximum Pell Grant Lifetime Eligibility Used (LEU).
