New legislation (HB 851) effective July 1, 2014, allows SPC to waive the out-of-state portion of tuition and fees for select high school graduates, provided they meet the following criteria:

  1. Have attended a secondary school (high school) in Florida for three consecutive years immediately before graduating from a Florida high school.
  2. Apply for enrollment at SPC within 2 years (24 months) after high school graduation.
  3. Submit an official Florida high school transcript as evidence of attendance and graduation.
  4. Are currently coded as a degree seeking student.
  5. Are currently enrolled in courses for the term the waiver is requested.

The waiver may be applied to students who are DACA or undocumented, but is not limited to undocumented students. If you meet the above criteria, please complete the Request for Waiver for Out of State Fees for Select Florida High School Graduates form.

You may submit the form and supporting documentation* to an Admissions/Registration office at your home campus or scan/email to: residencydocuments@spcollege.edu  by the deadline dates for the term for which the out-of-state waiver is sought. 

Please note: Receipt of this out-of-state tuition waiver does NOT constitute classification as a Florida resident for tuition purposes. Students who receive this waiver remain classified as non-Florida residents for tuition purposes and are NOT eligible for state financial aid, including Bright Futures. Students may apply for other scholarships, depending on the requirements of the individual program.

The Congressman C.W. Bill Young Veteran Tuition Waiver Program 

HB 7015 which was passed by the 2014 Florida Legislature and signed into law by the Governor effective July 1, 2014, enables SPC to waive the out-of-state portion of the tuition and fees for eligible veteran students, provided they meet the following criteria:

  1. Received an honorable discharge from the United Armed Forces, or National Guard (DD214 form must show Character or Type of Discharge).
  2. Physically reside in Florida while enrolled at SPC during the term waiver is applied (Copy of Florida DL, ID, rental agreement showing name of Veteran or any tier 1 residency document).
  3. Currently do not meet the state standard to qualify as a Florida resident for tuition purposes
  4. Are currently enrolled in courses for the term the waiver is requested.

If you meet the above criteria, please complete the Request for Waiver of Out-of-State Fees Congressman C.W. Bill Young Veterans Tuition Waiver Program form.

You may submit the form and supporting documentation* to an Admissions/Registration office at your home campus or scan/email to: residencydocuments@spcollege.eduby the deadline dates for the term for which the out-of-state waiver is sought. 

The form must be submitted each term in which the veteran is seeking the out-of-state fee waiver. 

Please note: Receipt of this out-of-state tuition waiver does not constitute classification as a Florida resident for tuition purposes. Students who receive this waiver remain classified as non-Florida residents for tuition purposes and are noteligible for state financial aid, including Bright Futures. Students may apply for other scholarships, depending on the requirements of the individual program.

*Supporting documentation may include but is not limited to: copy of Florida driver’s license/ID, Vehicle registration, Voter’s Registration card, Homestead Exemption or proof of a lease agreement.

Florida Statute 1009.26 (8) enables SPC to waive the tuition and fees for veterans who been awarded the Purple Heart or other eligible Superior Combat Decorations.

To qualify for the waiver, you must meet the following criteria:

  1. Currently meets the state standard to qualify as a Florida resident for tuition purposes and have a Declaration of Residency form on file
  2. Proof of awarded Purple Heart or Superior Combat Decoration by submitting a copy of the veteran’s Form DD214
  3. Photo ID
  4. Are currently coded as a degree seeking student.
  5. Are currently enrolled in courses for the term the waiver is requested.

If you meet the above criteria and are currently a degree-seeking student, please complete the Request for Waiver of Fees for Purple Heart or Superior Combat Decorations Tuition Waiver Application.

You may submit the form and supporting documentation* to an Admissions/Registration office at your home campus or scan/email to:  residencydocuments@spcollege.edu by the deadline dates for the term for which the state tuition waiver is sought. 

Florida House Bill 0799 enables SPC to waive the out‐of‐state portion of tuition and fees for all eligible Active Duty Military whose home of record is not Florida and current duty station is not Florida.

To qualify, you must be enrolled in courses as a degree or certificate seeking student.

If you meet the above criteria, please complete the Active Duty Out of State Tuition Waiver form and submit with the required proof of Active Duty service to the Office of Admissions and Records by uploading to: residencydocuments@spcollege.edu or at your nearest SPC Admissions/Registration office no later than the first day of the term and session in which you are enrolling.

***Spouses and dependents are not eligible for this waiver***

The form must be renewed each term you are seeking the out‐of‐state fee waiver.
